 AFTERCARE PROGRAM

The Aftercare Program meets once a week for 1½ hours for as long as needed. It is less  intensive and less structured than the Primary Program. The average stay in Aftercare is about
five months. This phase of the treatment offers ongoing support from other group members
who completed the Primary Program and reinforcement of what was previously learned. Most  people use this phase to internalize the new way of relating to food. They are also able to build  enough trust in other group members to address the issues underlying the eating disorder.  Aftercare begins following the completion of the Primary Program.
